How to use SNAP/EBT, DUFB, FDNP, and Protein Perks

SNAP/EBT

SNAP recipients will visit the Bend Farmers Market booth at FYP to exchange SNAP/EBT for wooden tokens that can be accepted by any FYP vendor (except Blue Eyes Burgers and Fries, Knife Sharpening, and hot/prepared food items).

Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB)

We were awarded a grant to provide up to $100 in DUFB to each participant! To access DUFB, you must go to the Bend Farmers Market booth and withdraw SNAP/EBT benefits. This is a matching grant, so you must take out $100 in SNAP benefits to receive the full $100 in DUFB. You may take out less, but the grant will match the amount taken out. For example, if you take out $20 in SNAP benefits, you will receive $20 in DUFB totaling $40 in food access dollars.

Protein Perks (PP)

This year, we are able to provide $16 in Protein Perks to each participant. To access Protein Perks, you must go to the Bend Farmers Market booth and withdraw SNAP benefits. This is a matching grant, so you must take out $16 in SNAP benefits to receive the full $16 in Protein Perks. Protein Perks can be used for Meat, Fish, Cheese, and Eggs only.

To get the maximum benefit from SNAP/EBT benefits and all of the matching grants, you must take out $116 in SNAP benefits. Here is an example of what you can access depending on your benefits amounts and your needs-

  • If you take out $50 in SNAP/EBT benefits you will receive- $50 in EBT plus $50 in DUFB OR $50 in EBT plus $34 in DUFB and $16 in PP. You can choose either option (or a combination of options) depending on your needs.

  • If you take out $116 in SNAP/EBT benefits you will recieve- $116 in EBT plus $100 in DUFB and $16 in PP

  • If you take out $200 in SNAP/EBT benefits you will receive- $200 in EBT plus $100 in DUFB and $16 in PP (the grant only matches up to $100 and $16

Farm Direct Nutrition Program Vouchers (FDNP)

These vouchers can be used directly with the farmers. Farmers accepting FDNP Vouchers include: Boundless Farmstead, Canyon Moon Farm, Deschutes Canyon Garlic, Farmer in Odell, Rainshadow Organics, Rooper Ranch, Sungrounded Farm, and Upriver Organics.
