The inspiration for this loaf traces to a 2013 blog post by My New Roots hailing “the Life Changing Loaf of Bread,” and Josey Baker’s 2014 recipe for “Adventure Bread.” I started offering my play 4-5 years later, early in my bread baking career. The loaf’s name comes from a friend who had frequently listened to my musing about heritage and landrace wheat varietals, stone milling, and long slow fermentation. He was rather perplexed that I made a loaf that contained no wheat flour, involved no milling, and didn’t take days to make. His simple provocation: “Seriously dude? After all your prattling on: “Where’s the Flour?””. The rest is yummy, flourless history.
