The Farmer in Odell
(formerly Cody Orchards)

See growing practices below

New name, same faces and produce! The Farmer In Odell is starting a new chapter of Cody Orchards. Lisa and Ricardo operate a 14 acre fruit tree farm with an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach. While our stone fruit is done by the time this event rolls around, we love sharing our pears and apples with people! We really believe there is a pear for everyone! We hope we can help you find that perfect "pearing". From July-Thanksgiving we operate a farm stand on the farm focusing on a low-key shopping experience for our area's neighbors. We do carry other farmer's produce to help expand what customers have access to. It has been a wonderful experience building relationships with other farmers and patrons, including our Central Oregon customers! Please note that this spring was a difficult one and we may be very short on certain products. If we are unsure of quantity-we may bring it for day of sales so please make time to check out our booth on pick up day if you don't see an item you have ordered in the past!

Growing practices: IPM is an ecosystem-based strategy that focuses on long-term prevention of pests or their damage through a combination of techniques such as biological control, habitat manipulation, modification of cultural practices, and use of resistant varieties. Pesticides are used only after monitoring indicates they are needed according to established guidelines, and treatments are made with the goal of removing only the target organism. Pest control materials are selected and applied in a manner that minimizes risks to human health, beneficial and nontarget organisms, and the environment. You can read more about our parasitic wasp releases, stink bug traps, and bat boxes on our website. www.thefarmerinodell.com
A tractor and sprayer are used on the farm to apply foliar nutrients such as calcium and boron, worm tea, clay, and other products such as a biodegradable film to help against sunburn- to help bring a quality product to market.

Expected products: Pears (anjou, bosc, comice, seckle, forrell, concordes, asian), Apples (newton pippen, elstar, golden delicious, jonagold, pink lady, gala, hanner's jumbo, spitzenburg, and more), horse/feed apples, dried fruit, and canned peaches.

Payment methods accepted: cash, check, FDNP vouchers, venmo, EBT/SNAP tokens
