Indiana in 2012 after Emily accepted job as a speech and language pathologist at St. Charles Hospital in Bend and Brian quit his job at Ball State University researching and teaching agricultural and environmental soil sciences and Agroecology to create a local market focused diversified organic farm. They purchased land in Culver and Bend in 2014 and Golden Eagle Organics was established, initially raising hay and goats and sheep for meat. In 2018, the Culver property was sold and the farming venture was consolidated to owned and leased land on the near NE side of Bend. In 2019, the farm added two high tunnels and fresh market produce, while maintaining the flerd of sheep and goats. The farms continues to grow with the goal of becoming a long-term sustainable supplier of organically-raised fresh produce and meats for Bend consumers.
